Why choose to visit with a licensed tour guide?
Today's big question!
Because it allows you to better understand what you are discovering and to enjoy a truly unique guided experience. A monument, a work of art, or a neighborhood fully comes to life when it is explained and placed within its historical and cultural context.
A licensed tour guide is a qualified professional, trained in history, art history, architecture, archaeology, or related disciplines. They share their knowledge in a clear and engaging way and adapt their approach to all audiences.
Their expertise is officially recognized through the national tour guide license issued by the French state, a guarantee of reliability and quality.
Choosing a licensed tour guide means placing your trust in a professional for an informed, rigorous, and accessible discovery of cultural heritage.
Our profession is founded on the transmission of factual knowledge, grounded in cross-referenced sources and research conducted by historians.
Many of us belong to regional professional associations that work to defend our profession, uphold the national guide license, and raise public awareness of our work.
For example, the regional association AGNA (Association of Guides of Nouvelle-Aquitaine): https://www.agica.info/
Licensed tour guides are also represented nationally by the FNGIC (National Federation of Licensed Tour Guides): https://fngic.fr/fr
So a BIG THANK YOU to all visitors—young and old alike—who choose to work with a licensed tour guide for guided tours, group trips, family tours, educational programs for schools, private tours, and more.

Hello and welcome to "Les balades guidées de Camille" !
Hello and welcome to "Les balades guidées de Camille" !
If you've landed on my website, it probably means you love heritage, the Périgord region, and guided tours… so thank you for stopping by!
I started Les balades guidées de Camille a few months ago. After 10 years working in a Tourist Office as a visitor advisor and guide, I decided it was time for a new adventure.
I'm a licensed tour guide and a proud member of the National Federation of Guide-Lecturers (FNGIC) and the Association of Guides of Nouvelle-Aquitaine (AGNA).
Why call them ""walks""? Because I want to share, explore, and talk about Périgord's heritage… at a relaxed pace, without feeling rushed or stressed!
Here on the site, you'll find a calendar of upcoming tours, which will gradually grow with more locations and dates. If you're part of a group or want a private tour, the best way is to reach out by email or phone so I can create a tailor-made experience just for you.
In future newsletters, I'll be sharing all sorts of stories—from life as a guide and local regulations to Périgord's history, heritage, and fun anecdotes.
Looking forward to seeing you soon, and thank you again for your interest!
